The 2008 Angie Awards Go to…
The incredible International Mystery Writers' Festival 2008 ended Sunday, June 22nd with a bang, a blast of crimson quills, and dozens of excited Angie Award winners.

"Queen of Suspense" Mary Higgins Clark received the prestigious First Lady of Mystery Angie Award from Kentucky's lovely First Lady, Jane Beshear. Also receiving special recognition during the closing ceremony was CSI television franchise creator and Executive Producer Anthony Zuiker, who took home the first Ira Levin Angie Award, named for original IMWF Executive Committee member Ira Levin who passed away November 2007.

Discovering New Mysteries celebrates the best of new mystery works through an annual competition offering more than $20,000 in prize money. Audience members cast ballots during the festival and select the winners for The Angie Award categories. "The Angies" are named for the legendary Angela Lansbury, Kentucky's First Lady of Mystery 2007.
